At the end of our first day at Acadia we went to the "famous" Cadillac Mountain, the highest point along the North Atlantic seaboard and the first place to view a nice sunrise in the US from October till March. The last time we went to Acadia (back than we had no small kids) we watched the sunrise from Cadillac Mountain and it was really oh so beautiful. Very cold but breathtaking.
Unseren ersten Tag in diesem schönen Park beendeten wir mit einem Trip hoch zum Cadillac Mountain, der höchste Punkt an der Nordatlantischen Küste. Von diesem Punkt aus kann man auch, in den Monaten von Oktober bis März, als erstes den Sonnenaufgang in den Staaten sehen. Noch ohne Kleinkinder hatten wir es vor ein paar Jahren auch getan, schön war es und bitterkalt. Doch es war ein besonderes Erlebnis und wird für immer in unserer Erinnerung sein.
Unfortunately we couldn't see the ocean beneath us, clouds took the view away. But especially the prince loved it anyway knowing he is on top of a mountain he was going running around (my heart almost stopped a couple of times) and had a blast. Can you see us in this picture?
Leider hatte es sich vom Meer her zugezogen und der Blick zum selbigen war durch eine Wolkenschicht verdeckt. Doch das störte gerade den Prinzen herzlich wenig, er rannte da oben rum, das mir so manches Mal mein Herz fast stehen blieb.

At night we went to a fancy italian restaurant in Bar Harbor. That is something I really enjoy with my boys, that we are able to do such nice things with them. They behaved wonderfully and our prince liked his first encounter with mussels. He couldn't even stop eating them even it was daddy's dish. But I have to say those mussels where the best we ever had. Amazingly good!
Zum Abendbrot ging es in ein gehobenes italienisches Restaurant in Bar Habor. Etwas das ich mit den Jungs wirklich geniesse, denn sie wissen sich einfach zu benehmen, sind leise so das wir alle eine schöne Zeit zusammen verbringen können. Die Kellner waren auch ganz begeistert von den Beiden, was uns Eltern natürlich mal wieder richtig stolz machte :). Der Prinz probierte sogar Muscheln und war so begeistert davon, das er dem Papa fast alle weg gegessen hatte. Zu seiner Verteidigung sollte jedoch erwähnt werden, dass es die besten Muscheln überhaupt waren, die wir bisher gegessen hatten. Unglaublich lecker!
Danach ging es in die Hütte zum schlafen. Es war schon stockdunkel draussen und die kleinen Racker todmüde von diesem aufregenden Tag.
